How to wear wide-leg Jeans after 40

The weather is finally warming up, and I am slowly replacing my heavy coats and chunky sweaters with light cardigans, blazers, and trench coats. Today, I’m rocking an outfit formula that I reach for a lot around this time of year- a vest, wide-leg Jeans, and a trench coat. It’s an easy outfit to pull off when you have nothing to wear.
I paired these dark, wide-leg jeans from Gap with a pinstriped, tailored, sleeveless vest that was slightly structured to balance out the volume of the jeans. You are free to use any other kind of vest, like this one or this one but I find that those with high necks look a lot better. Not only can you wear those casually, but you can also dress them up. The vest looks polished and creates shape, especially at the waist. It’s a smart alternative to a regular blouse and feels elevated without being too formal. If the weather is still a little cool, I would add a white tee under it for an extra layer. These are my favorite white tees, This modern crewneck tee to wear under your shirts, and this oversized Airism cotton shirt white tee to wear under sweaters and or on its own.

To finish the look, I added some gold jewelry, pointy-toe shoes, and a neutral lip. No outfit of mine is complete without a little scent combo. This day I chose KayAli Vanilla 28 and La belle from Jean Paul Gauthier. It’s like a seductive, juicy vanilla bomb that feels both playful and deep. This combo is perfect for date nights, cooler spring evenings or days.

The vibe is grown confident woman put-together, chic, and totally wearable. This is the kind of outfit you can wear to a casual meeting, a coffee date, or just working from home and wanting to feel good in your clothes.
