Winter to spring transition outfit

I’ve been manifesting spring since January, and here we are in mid-April with barely a hint of warm weather. But that hasn’t stopped me from adding a few spring essentials to my wardrobe. If you live anywhere with unpredictable seasons, you know how quickly spring shows up and disappears. So, I like to be ready and have everything I need ahead of time.

This outfit is one of my favorites I’ve put together in a while. The proportions, the color palette, the simplicity. It’s giving grown, put-together, and effortlessly stylish. If you’ve followed me for a minute, you already know my love for trench coats runs deep. I have them in all kinds of colors, cuts, and lengths. But this one from Me+Em is next-level. It’s beautifully made, has a detachable hood, and is perfect for those rainy spring days. Granted, the price is a bit on the expensive side, but it’s worth every penny, in my opinion. This one from H&M is very similar and under $70.

I started with a pair of wide-leg dark denim jeans from Penningtons and added a yellow-green top from Zara. What pulled the whole outfit together were the finishing touches: a bold scarf tied around the neck, oversized sunglasses, sleek pointed heels, and an unexpected brown tote.

If you ever find yourself staring at your closet thinking, “I have nothing to wear”—especially in your 40s when your style and body may be evolving- remember this: Accessories are where the magic happens. A simple outfit becomes stylish when you pay attention to those little extras. Scarves, sunglasses, a great pair of shoes, or a structured bag can elevate your look and help express your personality.

Style doesn’t have to be complicated; it just needs intention. I am proof that you can learn to style your body no matter the shape or size. This outfit is a great example of that, and it’s a spring uniform I’ll be reaching for on repeat.
